Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w prawie całej Europie (z wyjątkiem niektórych północnych obszarów), na wschód sięgający do azjatyckiej części ZSRR, Azji Mniejszej, Iranu i Mezopotamii. Z Polski wykazany jedynie z terenów nizinnych i pagórkowatych. Na ogół rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany w odchodach bydlęcych na suchych, piaszczystych miejscach.
