Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem niemal całą Europę z wyjątkiem jej skrajnych obszarów północnych i południowych. W obrębie swego zasięgu występuje w dwu podgatunkach. Podgatunek nominotypowy występuje tylko w południowej i środkowej Francji oraz w Hiszpanii; podgatunek Cionus longicollis ssp. montanus Wingelm. zasiedla Anglię, południową Fennoskandię, górzyste obszary Europy Środkowej oraz części północne Włoch i Jugosławii. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Występuje na suchych i ciepłych zboczach, łąkach, murawach, przydrożach, nasłonecznionych wzgórzach, skałach, kamieńcach i brzegach lasu. Żyje na dziewannie drobnokwiatowej — Verbascum thapsus L. i dziewannie firletkowej — V. lychnitis L. Bionomia i cykl rozwojowy nie są poznane.
