Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i południową część Europy; wykazywany również z Algierii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk na niżu i wyżynach w dziewięciu krainach, przy tym ze Śląska Dolnego i Wzgórz Trzebnickich notowany na podstawie znalezisk sprzed przeszło stu lat. Zasiedla suche i ciepłe miejsca na terenach otwartych, jak nasłonecznione wzgórza, skarpy, zręby, przydroża, ugory i pastwiska. Żyje na dziewannie drobnokwiatowej — Verbascum thapsus L. i dziewannie kutnerowatej — V. phlomoides L. W maju-czerwcu larwa żeruje głównie na dolnej stronie liścia, a przepoczwarcza się w czerwcu w żółtobrunatnym, owalnym kokonie.
