Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w całej Europie, docierający do Syberii Zachodniej; w Fennoskandii sięgający daleko poza kolo podbiegunowe. W Polsce występuje na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich, w niektórych okolicach jest najliczniejszym przedstawicielem omawianego rodzaju. Spotykany od czerwca do października w młodnikach i zagajnikach, zwłaszcza sosnowych i świerkowych. Jako rośliny żywicielskie podawano różne gatunki drzew iglastych.
