Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek rozmieszczony w prawie całej Europie (z wyjątkiem północnych obszarów Fennoskandii), docierający na wschód przez Syberię do wybrzeży Oceanu Spokojnego i Japonii. W Polsce, chociaż nie jest jeszcze znany z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla brzegi rzek i potoków, mokre łąki, wilgotne pobrzeża lasów, bagna i torfowiska. Żyje na olszy szarej — Alnus incana (L.) Mnch. i olszy czarnej — A. glutinosa (L.) Gaertn. Samice składają jaja w lipcu-sierpniu do zielonych szyszkowatych owocostanów; w jednym może żerować kilka larw, które na przepoczwarczenie przemieszczają się do gleby.
