Taxon description
Gatunek o zwartym zasięgu ograniczonym do środkowej części Europy. Znany ponadto z nielicznych stanowisk w południowej Fennoskandii, we Francji i Belgii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadki, znany dotychczas tylko z trzech krain południowych i Gór Świętokrzyskich. Spotykany pod zmurszałą korą, głównie drzew liściastych. Występuje zwłaszcza na powalonych pniach jaworu, grabu, dębu, jesionu, osiki i topoli, również w chodnikach larw chrząszczy Cerambyx cerdo L., Xylotrechus rusticus (L.), Saperda perforata (Pall.), Trypophloeus sp., w chodniku gąsienicy motyla Cossus cossus L. Znaleziony także pod korą jodły w żerowisku kornika Cryphalus abietis (Ratz.).
