Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie Europę Południową i część środkowej Europy. Granica północna rozmieszczenia przebiega od zachodniej Francji, przez środkowe prowincje republik niemieckich, Mazowsze i Podole. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, znany z nielicznych stanowisk w trzech krainach. Wzmianka sprzed przeszło stu lat o znalezieniu go w Wejherowie zapewne polegała na pomyłce. Żeruje na bukwicy zwyczajnej — Betonica officinalis L.
