Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986b:

Gatunek zamieszkujący głównie Europę środkową, na zachód docierający do Francji, a na południe do środkowych Włoch, Bośni, Krainy i Siedmiogrodu, notowany nadto z Finlandii, Syrii, Afryki Północnej i Ameryki Północnej. W Europie środkowej należy do wielkich rzadkości, dlatego też wymagania ekologiczne tego chrząszcza poznane są fragmentarycznie. W Polsce notowany tylko z pojedynczych stanowisk w trzech południowych krainach. Znajdowany pod zmurszałą korą dębu, wśród mchów na wilgotnej łące, na przetworach roślinnych w mieszkaniach oraz wśród środków farmaceutycznych pochodzenia roślinnego.
