Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990b:
Gatunek zasiedlający zachodnią część Palearktyki; w Europie rozmieszczony od krajów śródziemnomorskich aż do Wysp Brytyjskich, południowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii. W Polsce wykazywany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano głównie w maju i czerwcu. Zasiedla pobrzeża wód stojących oraz torfowiska. Roślinami żywicielskimi są różne gatunki jeżogłówek — Sparganium L., zwłaszcza j. gałęzista — S. ramosum Huds.; chrząszcze spotykano również na turzycach — Carex L. Obserwowano samicę składającą jaja pod powierzchnią wody na łodydze jeżogłówki pojedyńczej — Sparganium simplex Huds. (Krzemiński 1966).
