Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Gatunek dość pospolity nad brzegami rzek, jezior, wszędzie gdzie rosną wierzby, a szczególnie wierzba wiciowa. Motyl lata w dwu pokoleniach: w V i VI oraz VII i VIII. Gąsienice dziurkują zespolone przędzą liście na czubkach pędów wierzby wiciowej, a wg innych źródeł, różnych gatunków wierzb. Żerują w VI i VII oraz w VIII i IX. Mocny oprzęd, tępo ścięty od strony głowy poczwarki, budują gąsienice na gałęziach roślin żywicielskich. Zimują poczwarki.
