Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek znany głównie ze wschodniej części Europy, zwłaszcza z jej lesistych obszarów północnych, wykazywany poza tym z Syberii i Mandżurii. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadko notowany, znany dotychczas tylko z czterech krain, ale mimo braku udokumentowanych danych według J. Dominika (1957) występuje w całym kraju. Zasiedla głównie pniaki z drewnem dostatecznie wilgotnym, zwykle na drugi rok po ścięciu drzewa. Samice składają jaja w szpary kory i szczeliny drewna. Zasiedleniu mogą podlegać również stare pieńki, opanowane już uprzednio przez ten gatunek, wtedy samice składają jaja w stare chodniki wyjściowe. Larwy żerują, głównie w świerkach i jodach, rzadziej w dębach, grabach i olchach. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w maju. Gatunek ten nie powoduje większych szkód, gdyż na ogół wszędzie występuje rzadko.
