Gatunek mało znany, o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczeniu ogólnym; opisany z okolic Oslo, notowany dotychczas z kilku południowych prowincji Szwecji, z Finlandii, Danii, Estonii, Niemiec (Bawarii i Badenii), Austrii, Moraw i Słowacji. W Polsce stwierdzony na jednym stanowisku na podstawie czterech okazów wysianych w zaroślach olszowych. Występuje na pobrzeżach rzek i potoków, wodospadów, gdzie spotykany wśród kamieni, żwiru, mchów i pod napływkami.
