Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej Europie i północnej Afryce, nadto notowany z Wysp Kanaryjskich i środkowej Azji. W Polsce nie występuje. Wzmianki A. Zimmermanna (1917) i W. Kolbego (1918), oparte na okazach jakoby znalezionych na Śląsku Dolnym, są niewiarygodne z uwagi na ogólne rozmieszczenie gatunku; poza tymi wiadomościami brak w ogóle danych ze środkowej Europy. O występowaniu Gyrinus (Gyrinus) dejeani Brullé na Śląsku wątpi wielu autorów (Franck 1932b, Horion 1935, 1941, Kinel 1949, Tranda 1964).
