Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 2000:
W t. 4 str. 171 tego Katalogu zaliczony był jako synonim Elophorus (Megahelophorus) aquaticus (L.). Jest to jednak dobry gatunek, notowany z Anglii, Francji, Włoch, Fennoskandii, Danii, Niemiec, Polski, Słowacji i Węgier. W Polsce niedawno odkryty na Mazurach, nadto notowany z pięciu krain na podstawie danych z końca XIX wieku lub początku XX. Występuje w wodach stojących, dużych zbiornikach wodnych z bogatym detrytusem oraz w wodach torfowiskowych.
