Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w całej Europie, sięgający na wschód po Syberię. W Polsce, chociaż nie jest znany z niektórych krain, występuje na całym obszarze z wyjątkiem wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla wilgotne lasy, łąki, doliny rzek i potoków, torfowiska, przydroża, zalewiska rzeczne i rowy. Żyje na wierzbach — Salix L. O bionomii tego ryjkowca mamy skąpe wiadomości; larwa jakoby minuje liście.
