Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986b:

Gatunek europejski, rozsiedlony głównie w środkowej części kontynentu, docierający na południe do Pirenejów i środkowych Włoch, Chorwacji, Bośni, Siedmiogrodu i Krymu, notowany nadto z kilku południowych prowincji w Szwecji i Finlandii. W Polsce chrząszcz bardzo rzadki, notowany tylko z trzech krain. Poławiany przeważnie w lasach pierwotnych, na hubach i grzybach nadrzewnych porastających brzozy, osiki i buki, we Włoszech znajdowany na hubiaku pospolitym — Polyporus fomentarius (L. ex Fb.) Kickx.
