Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1991:
Gatunek górski, obejmujący zasięgiem Alpy, Sudety, Karpaty, góry Półwyspu Bałkańskiego i Kaukazu. Tworzy trzy podgatunki, z których jeden występuje w południowych Alpach, drugi na Kaukazie, podgatunek zaś nominotypowy zasiedla pozostałą część wymienionego areału. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych stanowisk w południowej części kraju. W Bieszczadach obserwowany w tysiącach osobników (Borowiec 1984c). Postacie dojrzałe łowiono głównie w drugiej połowie lata. Jako rośliny żywicielskie podawane są olsze.
