Taxon description
Rozmieszczony od Wysp Brytyjskich, południowych prowincji Fennoskandii i Karelii przez środkową część Europy aż do Francji, Jugosławii i Siedmiogrodu; najdalej na wschód wysuniętym znanym stanowiskiem jest Jarosławl w ZSRR. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany tylko z trzech krain południowych. Występuje na terenach pagórkowatych i górzystych do wysokości około 1900 m n.p.m. Poławiany od maja do lipca na roślinach zielnych i krzewach, między innymi na czeremsze zwyczajnej — Prunus avium Mill.
