Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w środkowej Europie i lokalnie w Europie południowej, notowany nadto z Kaukazu. W Polsce, chociaż nie znany jeszcze z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Nie jest jeszcze znana roślina żywicielska, na której chrząszcz odbywa rozwój larwalny. Postacie dojrzałe spotykane na kwiatach różnych roślin należących do rodzajów: rzeżucha — Cardamine L., farbownik — Anchusa L., żmijowiec — Echium L., dąbrówka — Ajuga L., jasnota — Lamium L., szałwia — Salvia L., oset — Carduus L., chaber Centaurea L. i mniszek — Taraxacum Zinn Web.
