Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem północnej części Fennoskandii, wykazywany nadto z Kaukazu i Syberii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Dane o rozmieszczeniu w niektórych krainach opierają się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat, dlatego też wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Jako roślina żywicielska przeważnie podawana jest jasnota biała — Lamium album L., ale zdaje się, że gatunek ten jest oligofagiem jeszcze innych roślin wargowych. Znany z kwiatów czyśćca prostego — Stachys recta L. i czyśćca leśnego — S. silvatica L. oraz z poziewnika — Galeopsis L.
