Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Gatunek rzadszy od poprzedniego, spotykany w podobnych środowiskach. Motyle latają od końca VI do końca VII. Gąsienice, bardzo podobne do gąsienic atalii różnią się od nich barwą wyrostków na ostatnim pierścieniu. Żerują na tych samych roślinach i w podobnym czasie. Motyle aurelii różnią się od motyli atalii (Melitea athalia) mniejszymi rozmiarami i nieco ciemniejszym ubarwieniem zewnętrznego paska na spodzie tylnych skrzydeł.
