[KFP 3418: Cryptophagus villosus] Gatunek rozmieszczony w południowej i środkowej Europie oraz w południowych prowincjach Fennoskandii, wykazywany również z zachodniej części Afryki Północnej oraz z Kaukazu. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, znany tylko z pięciu krain, przy czym większość danych o rozmieszczeniu pochodzi z ubiegłego stulecia. Spotykany na kwitnących chabrach — Centaurea L., janowcach — Genista L. i żarnowcu miotlastym — Sarothamnus scoparius (L.) Wimm., pod opadłymi liśćmi i w wiązkach chrustu.
