Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek znany z Hiszpanii, Francji i środkowej części Europy, na północ sięgający po południowe obszary Szwecji i Finlandii oraz Karelię, notowany ponadto z Astrachania i Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany z nielicznych, przeważnie pojedynczych stanowisk w sześciu krainach. Zasiedla rowy, łachy i miejsca wilgotne, gdzie żyje na bebłku błotnym — Peplis portula L. Larwa żeruje w torebce nasiennej, powodując jej powiększenia mniej więcej o 1/3, ale wyraźniej jej nie zniekształcając. Postać dojrzała pojawia się w lipcu-sierpniu, następnie zimuje.
