Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1978:
Najczęściej spotykany gatunek omawianej rodziny, rozprzestrzeniony w południowej i środkowej Europie oraz w południowej części północnej Europy. W Polsce, chociaż brak danych z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze z wyjątkiem wysokich gór. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie, zwłaszcza w dolinach rzecznych. Uważany za gatunek synantropijny, występujący pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, w stodołach, stogach siana i w pryzmach kompostowych.
