Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek znany głównie z południowej części Europy, notowany ponadto z Niemiec, Austrii, Węgier, Podola, Bukowiny, Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i Egiptu. W Polsce dotychczas w granicach obecnych nie znaleziony. Ogólnikowa wzmianka sprzed około 80 lat o występowaniu w naszym kraju opierała się na danych odnoszących się do terenów obecnie leżących poza naszymi wschodnimi granicami. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich, gdzie zasiedla środowiska wilgotne. Żyje na krwawnicy pospolitej — Lythrum salicaria L. Larwa żeruje w zalążniach kwiatów i owocach, nie powodując ich zniekształceń. Postać dojrzała spotykana zwykle od maja do września.
