Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w Europie Południowej oraz występujący lokalnie na kserotermicznych stanowiskach w południowej części Europy środkowej, notowany ponadto z Algierii i Kaukazu. W Polsce chrząszcz znany z nielicznych stanowisk w pięciu krainach, przy czym większość danych o rozmieszczeniu opiera się na znaleziskach w ubiegłym stuleciu. Na terenach nizinnych zasiedla głównie pobrzeża większych rzek, a na terenach górskich, kserotermiczne zbocza. Poławiany od czerwca do sierpnia na kwiatach bylin i roślin zielnych oraz na gałęziach wierzb.
