Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986a:
Gatunek europejsko-syberyjski, rozprzestrzeniony od Francji przez północne części Włoch i Półwyspu Bałkańskiego do Ukraińskiej SRR, na północ sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, a ku wschodowi przez Syberię aż do Kraju Nadmorskiego. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych i rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Poławiany rzadko, tylko na Śląsku złowiony wielokrotnie. Spotykany na suchej padlinie, świeżych i starych kościach, gnijących grzybach, w soku wypływającym z pni drzew, w gniazdach trzmieli; a w zimie w gniazdach kretów.
