Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1974:
Z uwagi na częste mylenie z innymi gatunkami, rozmieszczenie ogólne niezbyt dobrze zbadane. Wykazywany z Europy, północnej Afryki i Afganistanu. W Polsce rozsiedlenie również słabo poznane, według W. Kolbego (1928) wzmianki o występowaniu na Śląsku były błędne, gdyż odnosiły się do Harpalus (Ophonus) seladon Schaub. Zamieszkuje ocienione i wilgotne miejsca na glebach gliniastych.
