Taxon description

Prószyński et Staręga 1971:

Gatunek holarktyczny, jeden z najpospolitszych u nas pająków. Żyje w lasach sosnowych na gałęziach i pniach drzew. Duża zmienność osobnicza i prawdopodobnie rozwojowa była przyczyną wyróżniania w obrębie omawianego gatunku wielu «odmian», «form» i «podgatunków», a nawet uważania go za «superspecies» i w związku z tym dzielenia na kilka gatunków (np. Braun 1965). Wobec braku jasnych i jednoznacznych kryteriów odróżniających poszczególne taksony oraz braku różnic w biologii przyjmujemy, iż chodzi tu o jeden gatunek.
