Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986a:

Gatunek rozsiedlony od górzystych obszarów Francji, północnych Włoch i Półwyspu Bałkańskiego przez całą środkową Europę aż do skrajnych prowincji północnych Fennoskandii. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich, nie wykazany jednak jeszcze z wieln krain. Zarówno postacie dojrzałe jak i larwy żyją pod korą drzew iglastych opanowanych przez korniki z rodzajów cetyniec — Blastophagus Eichh., bielojad — Dendroctonus Er., zakorek — Hylastes Er. i kornik — Ips Deg. Często występuje również na powalonych lub ściętych świerkach pozbawionych kory oraz na stosach drewna.
