Taxon description
Gatunek zasiedlający prawie całą Europę, na północ docierający do Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii, południowych prowincji Fennoskandii i Karelii, notowany również z Maroka, Azji Mniejszej, krajów kaukaskich i Azji Środkowej. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, wykazany dotychczas z nielicznych stanowisk w pięciu krainach. Ogólnikowo wykazany z Galicji na podstawie danych odnoszących się do Podola. Błędna jest wzmianka podana przez A. Warchałowskiego (1978), że z Polski, zapewne wskutek przeoczenia, dotychczas nie podawany, gdyż ten sam autor wcześniej (1975) wykazał tego chrząszcza z Muszkowic na Śląsku Dolnym. Jako roślina żywicielska podawana jest stulicha psia — Descurainia sophia (L.) Webb.
