Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1974:

Dość pospolity gatunek palearktyczny, w Europie sięga do koła podbiegunowego, na Syberii do Leny, notowany również z Azorów, północnej Afryki i Kaukazu, zawleczony z balastem okrętowym do Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce występuje wszędzie z wyjątkiem wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla przeważnie gleby bagienne, najczęściej w niedalekiej odległości od pobrzeży jezior, stawów, kałuż lub wolno płynących wód. Lubi miejsca zacienione, wilgotne, z bogatą roślinnością, zwłaszcza turzyc i mchów.
