Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Gatunek dość rzadki, występuje w lasach iglastych. Motyl lata od połowy VI do początku VIII. Gąsienice żerują na świerkach i jodłach od VIII do VI z przerwą na sen zimowy. W hodowli można uzyskać 2 generacje motyli w X i XI przez podawanie gąsienicom modrzewia. Poczwarki przebywają w oprzędach na ziemi lub płytko pod jej powierzchnią.
