Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1985:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem obszary górzyste w Europie południowej i środkowej, notowany ponadto z Kaukazu i Iranu. W Polsce jest chrząszczem nadzwyczaj rzadkim, znanym tylko z jednego stanowiska. Zasiedla podgórza i góry, występując w Alpach szwajcarskich na wysokościach od 400 do około 2400 m n.p.m. Jest poławiany od maja do sierpnia, najczęściej w lipcu.
Kuśka 1995:
Z Polski znany dotychczas tylko z góry Turnicy pod Przemyślem (Trella 1925, 1938). Dahlgren (1979) w oparciu o zbiory Reittera wymienia Tatry, jednak w przeglądniętych materiałach brak okazów dowodowych.
Rozsiedlony głównie w południowej Europie. Dahlgren (1968, 1975) podaje go z Francji, Niemiec, Szwajcarii, Włoch, Austrii, Rumunii, Jugosławii, Grecji, Turcji i Hiszpanii.
