Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1976:

Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem północnej części Fennoskandii, nadto w Zabajkalu i stepowej części Syberii, notowany również z Ameryki Północnej. Występuje głównie na terenach otwartych zarówno na nizinach jak i w górach, gdzie dociera dosyć wysoko, na przykład w Tatrach do Hali Gąsienicowej. Spotykany głównie w drobnych zbiornikach wodnych, zwłaszcza zarośniętych trawami i turzycami.
