Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej części Europy Północnej (w Szwecji docierający do koła podbiegunowego) oraz w Europie Środkowej, na południe sięgający po francuskie Alpy Nadmorskie, byłą Jugosławię, Azję Mniejszą i zachodni Kaukaz. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych, rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju, przy czym dane o zasiedleniu Śląska Dolnego opierają się na znaleziskach z ubiegłego stulecia. Zamieszkuje lasy iglaste, liściaste i mieszane, stare parki i ogrody. Żyje w zmurszałym drewnie drzew iglastych i liściastych. Jako drzewa siedliskowe były wymieniane w piśmiennictwie sosny, świerki, dęby, buki, brzozy, olsze, wiązy, osiki i lipy.
