Taxon description
Gatunek występuje w środkowej, północnej i wschodniej Europie jako monofag świerka. Jak to wykazał Šulc (1944), związany jest ściśle z galasami wytwarzanymi przez mszycę Adelges laricis Vallot, 1836, która w Polsce występuje głównie na południu kraju, poza tym w parkach (Szelegiewicz 1968). Mszyca Adelges laricis nie była wykazana z Beskidu Zachodniego, Kotliny Nowotarskiej i Pienin, skąd jest wykazany Phenacoccus piceae, jest natomiast wykazana z krain zoogeograficznych w Polsce, z których nie wykazany jest czerwiec; należy oczekiwać, że zostanie on wykryty od Pojezierza Pomorskiego po Tatry. Mszyca jest gatunkiem migrującym ze świerka na modrzew.
