Taxon description
Prószyński et Staręga 1971:
Pospolity gatunek, znany z całej Europy, północnej Afryki, Syberii po Kamczatkę, Kanady, Stanów Zjednoczonych i północnej części Ameryki Południowej. Najczęściej spotykany w środowiskach związanych z gospodarką człowieka w mieszkaniach, piwnicach, szopach itp. oraz na zewnętrznych ścianach zabudowań. W środowiskach naturalnych żyje pod korą drzew lub w szczelinach skał.
