Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1978:

Gatunek rozmieszczony od Wysp Brytyjskich i południowej części Skandynawii przez całą środkową Europę aż do Francji, północnych Włoch, Chorwacji i Siedmiogrodu. Rozmieszczenie w Polsce słabo zbadane, znany z rozproszonych stanowisk głównie na obszarach nizinnych i pagórkowatych, przy tym większość danych oparta jest na znaleziskach sprzed kilkudziesięciu, a nawet przeszło stu laty, wymagają więc one potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Znajdowany pod korą i w zmurszałym drewnie starych, dziuplastych drzew liściastych, najczęściej w gniazdach mrówek z rodzaju Lasius F., rzadziej w gniazdach Formica rufa L. i Formica polyctena Foerster.
