Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1979:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w środkowej Europie, dociera do Wysp Brytyjskich, Francji, północnych Włoch i Bośni, nadto notowany z Syberii i pojedynczych stanowisk w południowej Szwecji i Finlandii. W Polsce, prócz wysokich gór, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze, nie znany jednak jeszcze z wielu krain. Znajdowany na terenach bagiennych, na pobrzeżach bajorek i stawów w ściółce, wśród wilgotnych mchów i niskiej roślinności. Gatunek przystosowany do życia nadwodnego, posiada zdolność biegania po powierzchni wody.
