Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Gatunek zamieszkujący prawie całą Europę, ale w miarę posuwania się z północy na południe coraz rzadziej spotykany, notowany także z Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce często notowany od Bałtyku aż po Tatry. Gatunek wszędobylski, w górach sięgający do strefy alpejskiej. Żyje na terenach otwartych i lesistych, na glebach wilgotnych i suchych. Spotykany w ciągu całego roku w ściółce, wśród mchów, pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, w kompoście i napływkach.
