Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej i środkowej części Europy, na północ docierający do Danii i południowej Szwecji, wykazywany również z Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej i Syrii. Rozmieszczony w całej Polsce prócz wyższych partii górskich, ale nie jest jeszcze znany z niektórych krain. Występuje w widnych zaroślach, na zrębach, przydrożach i ugorach. Żyje na bylicy polnej — Artemisia campestris L. Larwa żeruje na łodygach, w ich 1/3 części górnej, powodując beczułkowate lub wrzecionowate wyrosła długości około 6 mm i szerokości 4 mm. Przeobrażenie następuje we wrześniu lub październiku. Postacie dojrzałe zimują niekiedy w wyroślach.
