Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek zasiedlający znaczną część Europy, na północ dochodzący do Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii, a na wschód do Azji Mniejszej, Iranu, Kazachstanu i Turkmenii. W Polsce rozmieszczony na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich, nie jest jednak jeszcze znany z niektórych krain. Występuje na różnych gatunkach z rodziny różowatych — Rosaceae, niekiedy masowo i wtedy jest poważnym szkodnikiem. Postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się w kwietniu i żerują do końca lipca na pączkach liściowych oraz na liściach. Larwy odbywają rozwój w owocach; przepoczwarczenie następuje wiosną w glebie na głębokości 5-10 cm.
