Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986a:
Gatunek europejski, rozprzestrzeniony od Hiszpanii, Włoch i Macedonii przez środkową część kontynentu aż do południowych części Wysp Brytyjskich i Fennoskandii. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na terenach nizinnych i pagórkowatych w całym kraju, ale notowany z nielicznych stanowisk przeważnie w ubiegłym stuleciu. Zasiedla pobrzeża wód stojących. Rozwój larwalny odbywa w męskich i żeńskich kolbach kwiatostanowych pałki — Typha L. Larwy żerują w kolbach w czerwcu-lipcu, a młode chrząszcze ukazują się od połowy sierpnia.
