Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1981:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej i środkowej części Europy, na północ sięgający do Wysp Brytyjskich, Danii i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii, wykazywany również z Włoch i Kaukazu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk, rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju, przy czym większość danych opiera się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat. Występuje zarówno na terenach nizinnych, jak i górzystych. Łowiony przeważnie na soku wyciekającym z drzew liściastych, głównie brzóz, dębów i topoli.
