Taxon description
Gatunek występujący głównie w zachodniej i środkowej części Europy, wykazywany ponadto z Włoch i południowej Szwecji. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w pięciu krainach. Spotykany przy soku wyciekającym z topól i dębów, niekiedy w chodnikach gąsienicy trociniarki czerwicy — Cossus cossus L.
