Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy, na północ docierający do Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii, na wschód przez Syberię do Kraju Nadmorskiego, a na południe do Maroka. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Głównym żywicielem tego kornika jest osika, spotykany również na topoli czarnej i wierzbie kruchej. Opada głównie gałęzie. Chodnik macierzysty jednoramienny, poprzeczny, nieregularny, drążony w korze.
