Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Rzadko i lokalnie występujący motyl lata w dwu lub trzech pokoleniach. Spotykany jest w lasach dębowych i mieszanych, zagajnikach i nasłonecznionych polanach. Lata w V i VI, VII i VIII. Trzecie, niepełne pokolenie występuje niekiedy w miejscach nagrzanych słońcem w IX. Gąsienice żerują na dębach, bukach i olchach w VI i VII i w IX. Trzecie pokolenie gąsienic w naturze ginie. W hodowli można doprowadzić je do stadium poczwarek w końcu X umieszczając gąsieniczki na dębach rosnących w doniczkach. Zimę gatunek ten spędza w stadium poczwarki.
