Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem środkową i południową część Europy oraz Afrykę Północną. W Polsce rozwiertek sosnowiec jest bardzo rzadko spotykany, wykazany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w czterech krainach. Żeruje głównie na sośnie pospolitej, rzadziej na innych gatunkach sosen. Żerowisko rozgałęzione nieregularnie przebiega poziomo całkowicie w drewnie.
