Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986c:

Gatunek zamieszkujący niemal całą Europę (nie znany z Półwyspu Iberyjskiego), docierający na północy do koła podbiegunowego; wykazywany także z Syberii i Kaukazu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach na podgórzach. Gatunek o dwuletnim cyklu rozwojowym. Larwy żyją zarówno w zmurszałym, jak i twardym drewnie pni i w suchych, pozbawionych kory gałęziach, żerują również w nie impregnowanych słupach i płotach. Jako materiał lęgowy notowano drewno dębu, olchy, osiki i wierzby. Postacie dojrzałe były poławiane w pobliżu miejsc lęgowych, przeważnie w czerwcu i lipcu.
